Changes `make_channel!` macro to accept more types (#877)
* Changes `make_channel!` macro to accept more types
Changes `type` macro argument from `path` to `ty`, allowing more complex
types like tuples, arrays, & pointers.

* Adds to `CHANGELOG.md`
